âI canât move.â
Liam leaned over and pressed the softest kiss to the corner of my mouth. A good thing too, because after our efforts last night, my face was raw from stubble burn.
âYou donât have to move.â
âSomebody pinch me. Did that really happen?â
He grinned at me, blue eyes twinkling. âDid what really happen?â
âYou want me to put it into actual words?â
âYes, I think you should.â
âWell, Iâm not going to.â
But I did lift the corner of the duvet, and yes, we were both naked. Phew. For a moment, Iâd feared that Iâd dreamed the whole thing.
âItâs cute that you get embarrassed about sex.â
âItâs weird that you donât.â
âSweetheart, I was a stripper and now Iâm a doctor. Iâve seen more body parts than Iâve had hot dinners. Although that isnât difficult, seeing as I eat a lot of vending-machine sandwiches.â
âWhy? Youâre not a good cook?â
âI usually take the easy option.â Liam shrugged and brushed the hair away from my face. âSorry if I was a bit rough last night. A yearâs worth of longing and frustration came out in one go.â
âIâm not sorry at all, but I do ache in places I didnât realise I had places.â
He trailed a finger down my side, and I squirmed under his touch. âYouâre ticklish?â
âDonât you dare.â
âYou get a pass for today.â Today? Did that mean there would be a tomorrow? âI donât have to be at work until twelve, so I can spoil you until then.â
Four more hours of Liam? This was the best Christmas ever. Apart from the bit where Mr. Benson broke his hip, obviously. Iâd rather have avoided that incident.
âIâm yours for the spoiling. And anything else, just in case youâre wondering.â
âYou want breakfast?â My stomach picked that moment to grumble, and Liam laughed. âIâll take that as a yes.â
Despite Liamâs change in career, he still had zero inhibitions. Which meant I got to enjoy the glorious sight of his bare arse as he climbed out of bed. I couldnât resist reaching out to give it a squeeze, and that earned me another smile.
âItâs a yes.â
He paused in the doorway. âAny requests?â
âI canât think. I literally canât think.â
âDo you have eggs?â
âYes.â
âBread?â
âYes.â
âThen youâre having French toast. Thereâs no way Iâll risk going out for croissants again.â
